Murdo HughMACPHERSON -(INVERGORDON)Murdo passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness on Wednesday 22nd October 2025, aged 88 years.

Beloved husband of Margaret, much loved dad of Richard, Abner, Angela and the late Ian, loving grampa Murdo of Richard, Michelle, Dana, Samantha, Ashley, Jenna, Toni, Rachael, Kayla and Argyle, dearest papa to his 12 great-grandchildren and a dear brother to Margaret.

Funeral service to be held at Invergordon Social Club on Friday 31st October 2025, commencing at 11am.

All friends respectfully invited. Family flowers only please, but a donation, if desired, can be made at the service for Invergordon R.N.L.I.

Private cremation thereafter, at his own request.

More than a neighbour, more than a support to his own neighbours, but a genuine local hero. My feelings are now for Margaret, also a local support & hero, especially for my mother, are pretty deep, but I'm other side of World and not able to make it back for a local tribute.

Played football with Murdo for Kildary. I was fourteen and Murdo was captain. He was a great support for me a wee boy playing against men. I am now in Australia but met Murdo and Margaret when I returned to Invergordon once. Condolences to Margaret and the family.

I will miss Murdo dreadfully - he and Margaret have been true friends to me and also to my parents, helping them in their old age, and then being the absolute best neighbours ever to me. Murdo was one of a kind, great humour, an acute observer of life and character, and the kindest of hearts. Many here will miss him greatly. He leaves a real gap in our community.
